Yesterday's Big East Tournament openers kept me from making it out to the Wellness Center for what turned out to be an historic win, but fortunately, friend of the website Nelson Castillo was there to cover LIU Brooklyn once again for Blackbirds Hoops Journal. Nelson was gracious enough to allow us to link to his championship recap as the Blackbirds thrashed Mount St. Mary's 91-70 to claim their third consecutive Northeast Conference crown, perhaps the most meaningful after losing former head coach Jim Ferry to Duquesne before the season and Julian Boyd in mid-December to a torn ACL.
