“They called a foul. I didn’t think nothing of it. I’m not getting involved in stuff like that. The referee said it wasn’t (a 5-second violation on Scheierman), it wasn’t. I’m not going to sit here and comment on the referees, fellas, so if you guys want to ask me questions about that, I’m letting you know now I’m not commenting on the referees. They called what they called, it is what it is.”
On Seton Hall’s practice in preparing for Saturday:
“It was okay, not our best, not our worst. It was okay. You gotta give credit to both teams, man. I’m sour, like, I’m very sour right now, but that was a hell of a basketball game. Both teams fought to the end, you can’t ask for much more. You’ve got guys on both sides playing 50-plus minutes, right? It’s unfortunate somebody had to lose. Like I said, I’m sour, but it was a tremendous basketball game.”
On Jaden Bediako:
“I thought he played better in the second half. I didn’t like our big guys in the first half. I thought Ryan just kind of dominated us in the first half. I got on my guys at halftime and I thought they came out and played well, both bigs.”
On Seton Hall’s toughness:
“I think we’re a tough team, right? You guys and ladies understand, Creighton’s a Top 20 team in the country. It’s not like we’re playing somebody who’s not really good. They’ve got really good players, three all-league players, a good coach. They play a funky style. When you shoot almost 40 three-pointers, you just hope that you could contest some, and they missed some. I think what we take out of this is, like I told our guys, not one play lost this game for us. It’s just little things down the stretch that we definitely gotta clean up. And then when Dre fouled out, we were kind of playing with a lineup that we’re not used to playing with, and I’m asking the freshmen to go in there to battle and do things. I like the way we played. We lost and I’m super disappointed, anybody who knows me knows I’m a competitor, but we’re walking out of here with our heads high. It’s a tough loss, but we gotta bounce back. We’ve got a good Providence team on Wednesday.”
On Kadary Richmond’s triple-double:
“He’s that type of a player. He’s a good player and I’ve been telling you guys that the whole year. I think he’s starting to show it. I wish we’d have won the game, it’d be bigger for him, right? But we didn’t. We don’t look into individual stuff, we look into team stuff around here.”
On fatigue down the stretch:
“Everybody’s banged up right now. You’ve got Ryan for them playing 53 minutes, you got Trey Alexander playing 52 minutes, you got the kid Baylor playing 55 minutes. Everybody’s tired, everybody’s banged up. (Richmond’s) a warrior. He went out there and like all the rest of the guys, he played, we gave it our all and came up a little short.”
