Updated MAAC clinching scenarios: February 23, 2017

Updated after Marist's 87-74 victory at home over Quinnipiac Thursday, here are the latest Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference clinching scenarios leading up to next week's 2017 MAAC Men's and Women's Basketball Championships at the Times Union Center in Albany:

Monmouth: Has already clinched regular season MAAC championship. Hawks will be #1 seed in MAAC Tournament, and will face winner of #8/#9 game on Friday, March 3 at 7 p.m.

Saint Peter's: Has clinched a first-round bye. Peacocks can finish anywhere from #2 to #5 seed.

Iona: Has clinched a first-round bye. Gaels own potential tiebreaker over Fairfield by virtue of their season sweep against Saint Peter's, and can finish anywhere from #2 to #5 seed.

Siena: Has clinched a first-round bye. Saints own potential tiebreaker over Fairfield by virtue of their head-to-head sweep, and can finish anywhere from #2 to #5 seed.

Canisius: Can clinch a first-round bye with a win over Fairfield Friday. Golden Griffins can finish anywhere from #2 to #7 seed.

Fairfield: Has not clinched anything yet. Stags will finish as #5, #6, or #7 seed.

Rider: Is assured of competing in an opening-round game on Thursday, March 2. Broncs will finish as either #6 or #7 seed.

Quinnipiac: Is assured of competing in 5 p.m. game on Thursday, March 2. Bobcats will finish as either #8, or #9 seed, and would face Monmouth in quarterfinals on Friday, March 3 with a win.

Niagara: Is assured of competing in an opening-round game on Thursday, March 2. Purple Eagles can finish no higher than #8 seed, and no lower than #11 seed.

Manhattan: Is assured of competing in an opening-round game on Thursday, March 2. Jaspers will finish as either #9, #10, or #11 seed.

Marist: Is assured of competing in an opening-round game on Thursday, March 2. Red Foxes will finish as either #9, #10, or #11 seed.
