Bronx, NY - As the story goes, Danielle Burns was interested in George Washington. The Colonial staff did not reciprocate. Burns, a native of Gainesville, Virginia, chose Fordham. In the Rams’ 76-69 victory over George Washington on Wednesday, Burns did appreciable damage as the Colonials suffered their first Atlantic 10 setback of the season. Burns insists there was no revenge factor. “That’s how I come out and play hard every game,” she said. The numbers, though, bore a closer look:
Points: 31
Field goals attempted: 14
Field goals made: 11 (4-of-6 from three)
Free throws attempted: 7
Free throws made: 5
Rebounds: 7
Fouls: 2
Assists: 4
Turnovers: 4
Minutes: 38
Effectiveness Factor: 38
EF per minute: 1.00
“Danielle just comes to play every day. She is a great competitor and a pleasure to coach.” - Fordham coach Stephanie Gaitley
