The Atlantic 10 just released its 2013-14 conference schedule moments ago, which will remain at sixteen games before expanding to eighteen to accommodate the impending arrival of Davidson College in 2014. The departure of four schools and addition of George Mason creates four home-and-home matchups for each of the thirteen A-10 programs, and for Tom Pecora's Fordham Rams, there are several winnable games at the Rose Hill Gym during the upcoming season.
A breakdown of the schedule will follow on this site at a later date, but in the meantime, here is what is on tap for the Rams in conference play as senior guard Branden Frazier leads Fordham in their quest to improve from a 7-24 season:
The Rams will travel to Duquesne, who they defeated at Rose Hill in January behind one of Frazier's best games to date in his three-year career, as well as Massachusetts; who built a big lead on Fordham at home before a late Ram comeback against explosive point guard Chaz Williams fell just a little short, Phil Martelli's Saint Joseph's team, and reigning Atlantic 10 champion Saint Louis. Dayton, St. Bonaventure, reigning Sweet 16 participant La Salle and A-10 newcomer George Mason serve as the Rams' four stand-alone home games at the Rose Hill Gym in conference play.
Fordham's four home-and-home series this season will come against George Washington, Richmond, Rhode Island, and Virginia Commonwealth. Of that quartet, Dan Hurley's Rhode Island squad was the only one that the Rams managed to defeat this past season, eclipsing the Ocean Staters by the final of 66-63 on January 26th at Rose Hill.
Once again, a breakdown of Fordham's Atlantic 10 schedule will be posted on this site at a later date. Until then, please continue to follow A Daly Dose Of Hoops for all things Fordham.
