Updated going into Friday’s final slate of regular season Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference games, here are the latest seeding scenarios for each team in the conference:
Siena (12-3): Has clinched at least a share of the regular season championship and the No. 1 seed in the MAAC tournament. Will play in the quarterfinals at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 10. Can clinch sole possession of regular season championship with a win vs. Canisius.
Monmouth (11-6): Has clinched the No. 2 seed in the MAAC tournament. Will play in the quarterfinals at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 10. Can clinch share of regular season championship with a win at Rider AND a Siena loss vs. Canisius.
Marist (10-8): Has clinched a first-round bye and will finish as No. 3 or 4 seed. Will play in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 11. Can clinch No. 3 seed with a Saint Peter’s loss at Quinnipiac.
Saint Peter’s (9-8): Has clinched a first-round bye and will finish as No. 3 or 4 seed. Will play in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 11. Can clinch No. 3 seed with a win at Quinnipiac.
Niagara (7-9): Can finish as No. 5, 6, 7, or 8 seed.
Will finish as No. 5 seed with a Saint Peter’s win at Quinnipiac AND a Fairfield win at Manhattan.
Will finish as No. 6 seed with a Quinnipiac win vs. Saint Peter’s AND a Fairfield win at Manhattan.
Will finish as No. 8 seed with a Saint Peter’s win at Quinnipiac, a Manhattan win at Fairfield, AND a Canisius win at Siena.
Will finish as No. 7 seed in any other scenario involving a Manhattan win.
Quinnipiac (7-9): Can finish as No. 5, 6, 7, or 8 seed.
Can clinch No. 5 seed and first-round bye with a win at Saint Peter’s.
Will finish as No. 6 seed with a loss vs. Saint Peter’s AND a Siena win vs. Canisius.
Will finish as No. 7 seed with a loss vs. Saint Peter’s, a Manhattan win vs. Fairfield, AND a Canisius win at Siena.
Will finish as No. 8 seed with a loss vs. Saint Peter’s, a Fairfield win at Manhattan, AND a Canisius win at Siena.
Iona (6-3): Can finish as No. 8 or 9 seed. Will play in the opening round at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 9.
Fairfield (6-11): Can finish as No. 7, 8, 9, or 10 seed. Will play in the opening round on Tuesday, March 9.
Manhattan (6-11): Can finish as No. 5, 6, 9, or 10 seed.
Can clinch No. 5 seed and first-round bye with a win vs. Fairfield AND a Saint Peter’s win at Quinnipiac.
Will finish as No. 6 seed with a win AND a Quinnipiac win vs. Saint Peter’s.
Will finish as No. 9 seed with a loss AND a Siena win vs. Canisius.
Will finish as No. 10 seed with a loss AND a Canisius win at Siena.
Canisius (6-5): Can finish as No. 6, 7, 8, 10, or 11 seed. Will play in the opening round on Monday, March 8 or Tuesday, March 9.
Will finish as No. 6 seed with a win at Siena AND a Saint Peter’s win at Quinnipiac.
Will finish as No. 7 seed with a win at Siena, a Quinnipiac win at Saint Peter’s, AND a Fairfield win at Manhattan.
Will finish as No. 8 seed with a win at Siena, a Quinnipiac win at Saint Peter’s, AND a Manhattan win vs. Fairfield.
Will finish as No. 10 seed with a loss AND a Monmouth win at Rider.
Will finish as No. 11 seed with a loss AND a Rider win vs. Monmouth.
Rider (5-12): Can finish as No. 10 or 11 seed. Will play in the opening round on Monday, March 8 or Tuesday, March 9.
Will finish as No. 10 seed with a win AND a Siena win vs. Canisius.
Will finish as No. 11 seed in any other scenario.
